Job Description

Transform technology into opportunity as a Lead Journeyman Electrician at GDIT. Shape what’s next for mission-critical government projects while shaping what’s next for your engineering career.

MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT

Plan and execute electrical installations for new construction projects.Perform maintenance and repair of existing electrical systems.Troubleshoot electrical issues and recommend solutions.Ensure all work is performed in accordance with local and national electrical codes and regulations.Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and diagrams.Install, maintain, and test electrical systems and components, including conduit, wiring, circuit breakers, transformers, ground systems and other electrical equipment.Conduct resistance testing and documentation of existing ground systems.Conduct power panel load testing and document results.Attend meetings with key stakeholders and provide updates focused on electrical job performance and needs.Mentor and supervise apprentice electricians, providing guidance and training as needed.Maintain a safe and clean work environment by adhering to safety protocols and procedures.Prepare and submit daily work reports detailing completions, materials  and delays.Accurate tracking of used and needed material supporting site needs.



WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED
Bring your engineering expertise along with a drive for innovation to GDIT. The Electronics Engineer must have:

Education: HS diploma or equivalentValid Journeyman Electrician License RequiredExperience: Minimum of 4-5+ years of experience as Journeyman ElectricianKnowledge of electrical codes, standards, and regulations.Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical diagrams.Strong communication skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Good communication and interpersonal skills.Security clearance level: SecretUS citizenship required

Working Conditions

Work may be indoors or outdoors, in a variety of weather conditions.Requires 80% to 100% travel to various Air Force Bases for testing and installation support.May require lifting heavy objects, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces.Ability to work alone and in a team environment.Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
