Lead Infrastructure Engineer

As a Lead Infrastructure Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate Technology (CT) division, you will leverage your extensive expertise in software, applications, and technical processes to contribute to the infrastructure engineering discipline. You will also have the opportunity to expand your technical and cross-functional knowledge beyond your primary area of expertise. 

Job Responsibilities ​

Experience with On-prem and AWS capacity management.​Continuously oversee IT resource utilization, conducting regular analyses to identify and address any underutilization of resources, ensuring optimal efficiency.​Become a trusted advisor for Corporate Technology (CT) by providing expertise in optimizing best practices for both on-premises and cloud usage.​Collaborate with application teams to optimize resources effectively and ensuring that capacity management practices adhere to control procedures and standards.​Continuously assess and enhance capacity management processes and tools, staying updated with the latest trends and best practices in the field.

 

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills ​

Formal training or certification on CloudWatch concepts and 5+ years applied experienceExperience with CloudWatch, Dynatrace, APP D or similar APM tool along with experience in Grafana.​Experience with Hypervisor, Kubernetes, Databases, and BMC TrueSight Capacity Optimization, along with a solid grasp of compute, memory, and storage concepts.​FinOps Certified Practitioner or equivalent experience in FinOps principles, and the AWS Well-Architected Framework .​Capability to assess and mitigate capacity-related risks with keen commercial and financial awareness, understanding the impact on business and internal stakeholders.​Good understanding of application and infrastructure KPIs.​ Able to analyze and produce meaningful insights.​ Strong organizational skills, good judgment, fact-based and decision-making ability .Solid understanding of both on-premises and cloud infrastructure, which is essential for managing and optimizing IT environments.​Experience with various AWS cost optimization strategies, including budgets, savings plans, enterprise discounts, trusted advisor, reservations, spot​Good understanding of Observability tools , like Dynatrace, CloudWatch etc.​Ability to influence others across multiple functional areas to lead change.​ Able to review application and infrastructure KPIs and recommend optimization strategies to enhance infrastructure efficiency for the applications.
