Job Description: Senior Windows Operations Engineer (Exposure with Linux & Cloud Expertise)

Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Windows Operations Engineer with deep expertise in large scale infrastructure environments. While Windows is the primary focus, proficiency in Linux systems is also required. The ideal candidate has strong experience managing on prem environments (especially VMware) and is equally comfortable operating in AWS, as we transition toward a cloud first infrastructure.

Core Responsibilities

Manage, operate, and troubleshoot Windows-based infrastructure at an expert level. Provide operational support for Linux systems as a secondary responsibility. Maintain and optimize on prem environments using VMware (current state). Support and contribute to our cloud transformation using AWS (future state). Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure reliability, security, and scalability of systems. Participate in large scale migration projects from on prem to AWS. Implement best practices for system performance, monitoring, automation, and governance.

Required Skills & Experience

Operating Systems Expert-level Windows Operations experience. Proficiency in Linux administration. Infrastructure Hands on experience with VMware virtualization technologies. Good understanding of AWS fundamentals and operational practices. AWS Competencies (Strongly Preferred) Compute: EC2, Load Balancers Core Services: S3, IAM, SQS Certifications: AWS Solutions Architect (Associate/Professional preferred) CI/CD & Automation Experience with GitLab and GitLab CI/CD pipelines. Monitoring & Observability Experience with Datadog for monitoring and dashboards. Data Technologies Exposure to Elasticsearch Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases Messaging & Other Technologies Knowledge of RabbitMQ Experience with telephony systems Experience with EKS/ECS (container orchestration) Background in large-scale migrations from on prem to AWS

Soft Skills

Excellent communication skills able to collaborate with technical and non technical audiences. Strong attention to detail ensures accuracy and reliability. Proactive mindset anticipates issues, proposes improvements, and drives initiatives independently.
