Lead I - Enterprise Solutions ( Apigee Administrator)

Role Brief / Overview:
Skilled and experienced Apigee Administrator with experience in supporting large scaler enterprise Apigee infrastructure, will be responsible for administering, managing, and optimizing Google s Apigee API Gateway platform, ensuring high availability, security, and performance across the API lifecycle. Person will be critical in supporting our microservices and integration strategy within a cloud-native environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Administer, configure, and manage the Apigee Edge / Apigee X platform in on-premise, hybrid, or GCP-native environments.
Handle the deployment, upgrade, and patching of Apigee components and infrastructure.
Monitor and troubleshoot API performance, latency, errors, and platform availability using tool such as Apigee Analytics, Stackdriver, and other observability tools.
Collaborate with API developers to support API proxy design, deployment pipelines, and lifecycle management.
Enforce API security policies such as OAuth 2.0, API Key Validation, JWT, thread protection (e.g., spike arrest, quote, and rate limiting)
Manage and configure API products, developer portals, and environmental configuration (test, staging, production).
Integrate Apigee with identity providers (IDPs), backend services, and CI/CD pipelines.
Maintain and document configuration standards, policies, and operational runbooks.
Provide support during incidents, system upgrades, and maintenance windows.
Stay up to date on Apigee product enhancements, GCP updates, and industry best practices in API management.
Required:
1. At least 3+ yrs hands-on with Apigee Edge / Apigee X administration.
2. Strong knowledge of API gateway concepts, including proxies, products, developer apps, and monetization (optional).

3. Familiarity with enterprise ticketing tools ServiceNow and Jira are required. 4. Experience in working as senior/ lead support engineer in a enterprise environment. 5. Hands on experience with Splunk. 6. Familiarity with GCP networking, IAM, and monitoring tools (e.g., Cloud Logging, Cloud Monitoring).
7. Experience with OAuth 2.0, SAML, JWT, mTLS, and other API security standards.
8. Proficient in Shell Scripting, Python, or Node.js for automation and integration tasks.
9. Experience working with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Cloud Build) for API Deployment.
10. Solid understanding of RESTful APIs, HTTP protocols, and integration patterns.
11. Should come with experience in migrating Apigee Edge to Apigee X or managing Apigee in hybrid/cloud-native mode.
12. Google Certified Apigee API Engineer or Professional Cloud Architect, is a HUGE plus.
