Roles and Responsibilities
As an Impact Dynamics Engineer, you will:
Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirementsDevelop and analyze LSDYNA models to support the design and development of aircraft engines. Provide impact loads, deflections, & stress/strain results to design groups and provide guidance for interpretation.Provide technical leadership to personnel supporting the assigned projectDocument technical data generated by the assigned project consistent with engineering policies and proceduresProvide timely communications on significant issues or developmentsParticipate on teams assigned to address organizational initiatives and generic issuesParticipate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviewsAssure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and proceduresPrepare reports and present to engine program customers and engineering leadershipRequired Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an accredited university or collegeAt least 3 additional years of in an Engineering position or equivalent experienceLegal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. Desired Characteristics
Prior experience with LS-DYNA or other explicit FE code.Familiarity with structural analysis, preloaded structures, rotating structures.Familiarity with Hypermesh, ANSYS, or other meshing software.Familiarity with vibration analysis, vibration testing and rotor dynamics’ analysis methodsInterest in continuing to improve standard processes and improve best practicesStrong technical aptitude, including applicable engineering tools and systemsSolid oral and written communication skillsStrong interpersonal and leadership skillsAbility to influence others and lead small teamsStrong problem-solving skillsThis role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. Therefore, employment will be contingent upon the ability to prove that you meet the status of a U.S. Person as one of the following: U.S. lawful permanent resident, U.S. Citizen, have been granted asylee or refugee status (i.e., a protected individual under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)).
