Lead Electromechanical Technician
Job Title: Lead Electro-Mechanical TechnicianJob Description

This position is for a Lead Electro-Mechanical Technician in a metal manufacturing company where you will work primarily with manual equipment and some automated machinery. Your role will involve troubleshooting, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance on notching machines, sharpening tools, welders, and other equipment within the facility. You will service, maintain, and upgrade existing production equipment and facilities, and also assist in building new machinery. Electrical skills are highly prioritized in this role, including tasks such as wiring motors, troubleshooting PLCs, and working with control cabinets.

ResponsibilitiesIdentify problems and perform mechanical repairs on industrial production line equipment, including pumps, gearboxes, conveyors, filters, grinders, punch presses, and pneumatic components with minimal downtime.Conduct electrical tasks such as changing 1 HP motors, working with 24V DC controlled motors, auto switches, and hooking up panels.Troubleshoot and perform electrical repairs for machine control circuits, including PLCs, AC & DC motors, sensors, and cameras.Carry out facility support tasks, including building maintenance, painting, floor care, electrical work, plumbing, and HVAC service.Utilize CMMS to complete work orders and log corrective maintenance issues.Communicate with production personnel, maintenance technicians, and engineering staff to identify problems and coordinate corrective measures.Suggest and implement improved designs to existing equipment components and systems.Perform periodic preventative maintenance on production equipment to ensure safe and efficient function.Make replacement and prototype parts and fixtures through machining and fabrication.Service, maintain, and assemble punch press dies and components.Analyze, install, and maintain water, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.Follow all safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.Essential SkillsMinimum of 3 years of relevant experience in an industrial setting.Strong mechanical knowledge and skills, including the use of common hand tools.Ability to troubleshoot machine control circuits and understand drawings, diagrams, and schematics.Capability to diagnose motor failures and properly connect and install dual-voltage motors.Proficiency in using electrical test instrumentation, including multimeters and amp meters.Effective communication skills.Understanding of basic math, including fractions, decimals, and measurement conversions.Motivation to solve problems and learn continuously.Ability to use measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, indicators, and thread gauges.Comfortable with a work split of 30% mechanical and 70% electrical tasks.Maintain a clean and orderly workspace.Additional Skills & QualificationsPLC and HMI troubleshooting and programming experience is preferred.Experience in automation maintenance and integration.Technical degree or certifications are preferred.Basic knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and ISO standards.Proficiency in MS Office programs such as Excel, Word, and Outlook.Why Work Here?

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $48.00/hr.
