We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic Director of Analytics & Scheduling. This role is responsible for driving data-informed decision-making across workforce planning, forecasting, scheduling, and operation performance. The ideal candidate will bring a strong blend of strategic thinking, analytical expertise and team leadership to help optimize our workforce can deliver exceptional service outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
Develop and drive the long-term analytics strategy in support of workforce management goals, aligning closely with broader business objectives.
Develop and execute an analytics roadmap aligned with corporate goals in for all Lines of Business under ACS.
Partner with business leaders to define analytical priorities and identify opportunities to improve profitability, risk selection, and service delivery.
Champion a data-driven culture, promoting the use of advanced analytics in everyday business decisions.
Team Management
Manages team performance through regular, timely feedback as well as the formal performance review process to ensure delivery of exceptional services and engagement, motivation, and team development.
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of analysts, data scientists, and reporting specialists.
Foster collaboration across actuarial, product, and operations teams to ensure alignment and impact.
Manage resource planning, workload distribution, and skill development initiatives.
Analytics Delivery
Establishes workforce management strategies that leverage patient volume data, acuity, and other relevant factors to consistently meet scheduling needs.
Develops a methodology to more effectively allocate employees to different shifts, considering factors such as skills, availability, workload, and compliance with labor regulations.
Defines programs and processes that monitor and track real-time adherence to schedules and promptly address any deviations or issues.
Designs key performance indicators (KPIs) to provide insight into organizational schedule adherence, attendance, absenteeism, and productivity rates.
Develops a team responsible for monitoring real-time data on patient volume, staffing needs, and other operational factors, making necessary adjustments to account for scope changes
Oversees the planning of initiatives that aim to streamline scheduling practices, reduce costs, and improve the overall utilization of resources.
Oversee the design, development, and deployment of dashboards, predictive models, and decision-support tools.
Drive automation and scalability through modern data tools and platforms.
Operational Excellence
Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for business and team success.
Ensure analytical outputs are accurate, timely, and actionable, with clear storytelling to non-technical audiences.
Ensure compliance with data governance, privacy, and regulatory standards within the insurance industry.
Continuously improve analytical processes and methodologies for greater speed, accuracy, and business impact.
Minimum Qualifications
8+ years of experience in analytics, business intelligence, or data science — with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
Proven experience within the healthcare industry (e.g., UM/CM management, claims and appeals…)
Strong proficiency with data visualization and analytics tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, SQL, Python, SAS).
Demonstrated ability to translate complex data into actionable business recommendations.
Exceptional communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with large-scale insurance data sets (claims, enrollment, provider networks).
Familiarity with predictive modeling, risk stratification, or member segmentation techniques.
Understanding of insurance performance metrics (loss ratios, utilization rates, risk scores).
Exposure to cloud data environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) and modern data pipelines.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, or a related field; Master’s preferred.
Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$100,000.00 - $231,540.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
