The Business Performance Office team is highly visible and responsible for managing strategic programs and projects and delivering on key initiatives for the Aetna COO and senior leadership team. This role will work in close partnership with colleagues from across all lines of business, operational areas, and the shared services teams. This position offers broad exposure to all aspects of the company’s business, as well as interaction with business leaders, requiring the candidate to be highly effective in a matrixed environment and possess the ability to navigate the organization and quickly build a deep understanding of different businesses.
As Lead Director, Strategy Enablement, you will be responsible for developing innovation and content strategies that advance commitments to lead in provider and member experience, total cost of care management, and operational excellence. You will ensure successful execution of initiatives from ideation through articulation, coordinating across matrixed partners to define value stories and opportunities. This includes identifying the appropriate channels for clients and end users and ensuring alignment across the enterprise in our narratives.
This experienced strategist will have demonstrated skills in executive presentation and storytelling, thought leadership, implementing initiatives across a matrixed healthcare organization, and supporting go-to-market strategies. The candidate is expected to continuously adapt as needs evolve and be comfortable navigating ambiguity, as well as being proactive, creative, and nimble in your approach to enable success in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
This position can be office-based or remote (East Coast preferred).
Key Responsibilities
Partner across the organization to develop strategies and deliver initiatives that effectively articulate Aetna’s unique positioning and elevate proof points
Design content strategies that will support the enterprise, business units, and operational functions demonstrate their value stories and compelling narratives
Consult with teams in prioritizing opportunities for maximum value and customer / member-centric impact
Design of talking points and slide creation for strategies, executive audiences, and client presentations that are concise, provide a compelling vision, and are action-oriented
Support thought leadership opportunities to share impact and outcomes of Aetna lines of business and operations efforts
Collaborate with colleagues across the enterprise and shared services to produce high-quality, engaging content that demonstrates our strategies and outcomes
Design innovative content delivery channels and resources to improve engagement in our programs and solutions
Provide coaching to Business Performance Office team and partners to support effective storytelling, value story refinement, and articulation
Required Qualifications
10+ years of healthcare experience
7+ years of strategic project management or strategic engagement experience
Excellent presentation and communications skills, including aptitude for writing and storytelling and facilitation in virtual and in-person settings
Experience writing and producing thought leadership for clinical and non-clinical executives
Ability to establish project objectives, milestones and meet deadlines and satisfy customers with multiple competing priorities
Ability to effectively interact one-on-one with all levels of management, including executive leadership
Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment to solve challenging issues and identify opportunities for improvement
Effective technical skills within PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint, and other Microsoft applications
Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated success developing and executing content strategies for healthcare products, services, and programs
PMP certification preferred
Education
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (such as business, health care, life sciences, etc.) or equivalent work experience required
Master’s degree in a relevant field preferred
Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$100,000.00 - $231,540.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
