Our Network Security Infrastructure team is seeking an experienced Lead Cybersecurity Network Engineer to evaluate the security posture of our core telecom network through innovative design, testing, implementation, and defense of network security solutions across multi-vendor environments.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Research and proactively identify network vulnerabilities and security flaws across diverse network equipment vendors including Arista, Nokia, Ericsson, Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, Fortinet, and UfiSpace.
+ Architect and design security hardening mechanisms for network elements, to enforce best-in-class routing security, OAM segmentation, supply chain security, and network compartmentalization.
+ Collaborate closely with router and firewall software vendors to create standardized security designs and features that can be shared across multiple platforms.
+ Implement and enforce core network security controls, policies, and standards to reduce cyber risks and enhance the security posture of the telecom network.
+ Lead ideation, testing, proof of concept, and support for cybersecurity projects impacting the core telecom network.
+ Analyze complex security issues and develop engineering solutions to mitigate risk.
+ Evaluate hardware and software solutions for network security
+ Develop and maintain policies and procedures to minimize network intrusions, vulnerabilities and emerging cybersecurity threats.
+ Monitor network security events and analyze traffic using security tools to detect anomalies and potential threats in real-time.
+ Support incident response activities by investigating, containing, and remediating network security incidents affecting core telecom infrastructure.
+ Collaborate with the Security Operations Center (SOC) and incident response teams to develop detection rules, alerts, and playbooks for network-based threats.
+ Participate in threat hunting and vulnerability assessment exercises focused on network environments and routing infrastructure.
+ Develop automation scripts and tools to automate security monitoring and alerting.
Education:
+ Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Mathematics, or related field from an accredited university.
Experience:
+ 5+ years of progressive experience in network security with a focus on large-scale ISP or telecom networks.
+ Strong expertise in IP routing protocols: MPLS, BGP, MP-BGP, BGP-LU, BGP-UC, EVPN, Static Routing, OSPF, ISIS, RSVP, Multicast, VLAN, RIP, FIB, L2/L3 VPNs.
+ Proficient with switching technologies: LAN switching, VTP, STP, RPVST+, Inter-VLAN routing, Multi-layer switching, EtherChannels, Transparent Bridging.
+ Deep knowledge of networking technologies including TCP/UDP, VXLAN, VPCs, NAT, DNS, QoS, CoS, BGP, VPLS/VPWS, Ethernet OAM, FlowSpec, DDoS mitigation, VRFs, TACACS, RADIUS, SSH, TLS, IPSec, gNMI, SNMP, Telemetry, certificate management, and cryptographic key distribution.
+ Experience with network security controls such as firewalls (Palo Alto, Juniper SRX, Fortinet), ACLs, access control, and router protection techniques.
+ Multivendor platform experience including Cisco, Juniper, Arista, Ciena SAOS/NOS, RAD/RADview, UfiSpace, and DriveNets NOS.
+ Scripting and automation proficiency using Python for network testing, configuration automation, and security monitoring.
+ Proficient with Linux operating systems and command-line tools.

Our Lead Cybersecurity earns between $128,400.00-$192,600.00 USD Annual, not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
