The Mastercard BizOps team is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) who thrives on solving complex problems, building resilient CI/CD pipelines, and driving Mastercard’s evolution toward modern DevOps practices.

Mission
BizOps serves as the production readiness steward for our platforms. We work closely with engineering teams to design, build, deploy, and operate high quality technology services. As a Site Reliability Engineer within BizOps, you will ensure:
•\tAvailability, resiliency, and performance of critical systems
•\tProactive monitoring, alerting, and self healing capabilities
•\tAutomated deployments, repeatable processes, and reduced manual toil
•\tOperational excellence embedded throughout the software delivery lifecycle
BizOps accelerates Mastercard’s DevOps journey by advocating for standards, enabling consistent operating models, and providing continuous feedback to improve product quality and customer experience.

Responsibilities
•\tDrive and enhance the full lifecycle of application services from design and architecture through deployment, operations, and continuous improvement.
•\tAnalyze platform ITSM activities to identify operational gaps, resiliency risks, and opportunities for engineering teams to improve reliability.
•\tPartner with development and architecture teams during pre production phases, providing guidance on system design, capacity planning, scalability, and launch readiness.
•\tMaintain production services by actively monitoring availability, latency, performance, and overall system health.
•\tScale and evolve systems sustainably through automation, continuous process improvement, and engineering best practices.
•\tLead and support CI/CD pipelines, ensuring high quality software promotion through automated validation, operational gating, and DevOps excellence.
•\tChampion a culture of sustainable incident response, including blameless postmortems and data driven remediation.
•\tTroubleshoot production events holistically by correlating issues across the full technology stack to reduce mean time to recover (MTTR).
•\tCollaborate effectively with a globally distributed team across multiple time zones and engineering hubs.
•\tMentor and coach junior engineers, promoting shared learning and technical growth across the team.

Qualifications
•\tBachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field involving coding (e.g., physics, mathematics), or equivalent practical experience.
•\tStrong foundation in algorithms, data structures, scripting, pipeline management, and software design.
•\tDemonstrated analytical and systematic problem solving skills with strong communication, ownership, and follow through.
•\tAbility to debug and optimize systems, automate repeatable tasks, and improve operational efficiency.
•\tExperience working with diverse stakeholders and making timely decisions in high pressure environments.
•\tProficiency in one or more of the following: Python, Go, Bash.
•\tInterest and experience in designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting large scale distributed systems.
•\tProven ability to work across development, operations, and product organizations to prioritize needs, build strong relationships, and drive automation.
•\tHands on experience with industry standard DevOps and observability tools such as Git/Bitbucket, Jenkins/XLR, Chef, Splunk, Dynatrace.
•\tExperience creating and managing efficient CI/CD pipelines that deliver high quality releases with minimal manual intervention.

•\tFamiliarity with SOAP and REST web services and related integration patterns.
