The Test Lead will define and drive the automation testing strategy in collaboration with technical leadership, ensuring robust processes and consistent standards across multiple teams. This role involves coordinating automation testers, providing technical guidance, and improving visibility and reporting of the automation suite. The Test Lead will work closely with development teams to maximize test coverage, support TDD practices, and deliver high-quality solutions using Java and TypeScript, with strong knowledge of UI and API automation, CI/CD, and cloud platforms.
Responsibilities
• In collaboration with the technical leadership from CGI and Specsavers, define, monitor and refine the testing strategy, policies and processes for SCE; communicate it to the teams.
• Liaise with client counterparts to ensure that our joint testing efforts are efficient, effective and responsive.
• Co-ordinate several automation testers across several teams to provide technical guidance and ensure consistency of approach and standards.
• Co-ordinate with technical leadership, delivery teams and Specsavers QA team to improve visibility, communication and reporting around the automation test suite.
• Communicate effectively and professionally around testing scope, ensuring that testing is necessary and sufficient, and increasing confidence in the automation suite.
• Work with the development teams to maximise the efficiency of automated testing with a focus on coverage, approach and technology migration.
Must Have Skills:
• Experience of tech leadership in automation testing
• Experience with client stakeholder management
• Strong knowledge of development practices using Java and ideally TypeScript
• Enthusiastic to support Test Driven Development within cross-functional teams
• Passionate about testing and shifting left and good working knowledge of CI/CD deliveries
• Proven experience in both UI and API automation
• Working knowledge of NFR testing and the automation of NFR testing
• Analytical approach to developing with maintainable coding approaches
• Comfortable delivering within a Cloud platform using cloud products
Education Qualification: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or higher with minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
