Overview
The Distributed Platforms team is looking for a Lead Platform Engineer to join our Operations team to help drive automation and toil reduction across our processes and compute and storage products. You will also become a SME on how our products and services interoperate with each other and our customer applications, helping diagnose and resolve some of our most complex incidents. The ideal candidate is passionate about operational excellence, highly motivated, intellectually curious, analytical, and multi disciplined in technologies such as Linux, Vmware, Storage, Networking.

Role
•\tBe one of the regional leads for managing and supporting incident triage
•\tDrive standardization of processes, tooling and ways of working across core operational areas of Storage, Linux and VMware
•\tChampion and implement automation and toil reduction of operational work
•\tChampion and implement enhanced monitoring and observability across our core products and services
•\tMentor junior staff, challenge assumptions and influence change

All About You
The ideal candidate for this position should:
•\tExperience working in an operational role with knowledge of ITSM processes
•\tStrong technical experience across a broad range of compute and storage technologies like Linux, Vmware, Block, File and S3 Storage, Kubernetes, Pivotal Cloud Foundry
•\tStrong experience in wider technology areas like networking and load balancing
•\tKnowledge of technologies such as Kafka, Postgres, Redis, Tomcat
•\tExperience using monitoring and observability tools like Splunk, Aria Operations, Grafana
•\tExperience using automation tooling like Chef, Ansible, Jenkins and XL Release
•\tHighly skilled at problem solving and using data to drive decision making
•\tHighly skilled at thinking about problems holistically
