You should also be able to keep a record of which items belong to whom. To be successful as a laundry attendant, you should demonstrate excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Top-notch candidates will consult with customers to discuss supplementary laundering-related services that may be of use to them. Essential Job Responsibilities: + Sorting, washing, drying, pressing, and folding clothing and other textile items. + Removing stains from items using the appropriate procedures. + Performing minor sewing duties. + Keeping an updated inventory of laundry detergents and sewing kits. + Monitors feeder information on washers, make sure all drums are full, and report any irregularities to immediate supervisor. + Set proper drying and cooling times for different types of linen. + Clean up machines and surrounding areas + Other duties as assigned by Supervisor + May be required to assist in housekeeping as a Room Attendant, Houseperson or Public space attendant as needed and assigned. + Perform all duties and responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with established company policies and procedures, Physical Requirements: + Ability to lift, bend, stoop, push or pull heavy loads and stand for long periods of time. + Familiarity with cleaning detergents and laundering equipment. + Requires ability to lift bundles of linen weighing up to 50 lbs. + Ability to push and or pull wheeled cards weighing up to 150lbs. + Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. + Available to work morning and evening shifts and on weekends.
