Lathe Machinist
**Job Title: Lathe Machinist** **Job Description** We are currently seeking an experienced CNC Lathe Machinist who can independently set up and operate CNC lathes to precise tolerances and specifications for aerospace parts. **Responsibilities** + Operate CNC lathes for short runs to produce between 40-60 parts. + Perform 1-5 setups daily by selecting appropriate cutting tools, installing soft jaws and boring them true, loading collets, setting chuck pressure, and loading/editing programs. + Edit and proofread CNC programs (G&M code). + Interpret computer-generated setup sheets and blueprints to determine proper tooling, fixtures, feeds, speeds, and machining sequences. + Conduct quality inspections using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and bore gauges. + Perform first and last piece inspections. + Read and interpret blueprints, job orders, and tooling instructions. **Essential Skills** + Experience in CNC lathe operating and setup, with the ability to perform up to 5 setups a day. + Proficiency in selecting appropriate cutting tools, installing tools, installing soft jaws, loading collets, setting chuck pressure, and loading/editing programs. + Ability to load the CNC program, edit feeds/speeds, adjust depths of cut, add tool offsets, or change toolpaths. + Understanding of GD&T and prior experience with quality inspection, particularly with tight tolerances. + Capability to interpret feature control frames and understanding datums, forms, orientations, profiles, and location tolerances. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + CNC programming from scratch. + Experience with Fanuc Oi, Fanuc 21i, Haas, and Okuma controls. **Why Work Here?** Join a highly innovative environment that utilizes a smart factory roadmap using data, digital twins, and embedded systems to enhance operator support and production flow. Work in the U.S. headquarters for aerospace operations in a climate-controlled, well-lit, and clean facility. The company specializes in precision gear and gearbox manufacturing for aerospace, employing roughly 100 people.
