**Job Title: Lathe Machinist** **Job Description** We are seeking a skilled Lathe Machinist to operate and set up various CNC machines, including single spindle, single turret equipment such as Mori Seiki and DMG NLX 2500s. This role involves programming at the machine, mentoring other machinists, and ensuring low scrap rates while primarily working on medical parts. The successful candidate will also be responsible for checking their own parts, with access to 22 CMMs on the floor. **Responsibilities** + Operate and set up single spindle, single turret CNC machines. + Program CNC machines as necessary. + Mentor and provide guidance to other machinists. + Ensure low scrap rates and maintain high-quality standards. + Perform self-inspection of parts using available CMMs. **Essential Skills** + 5+ years of experience in turning. + Proficiency in operating CNC machines, particularly lathe and Mori Seiki equipment. + Ability to read and interpret blueprints. + Proficient in using hand-held measuring tools and performing basic calculations. + Advanced knowledge of programming at the controller. + Proficient knowledge of CMM, VCMM, and GD&T. + Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills. + Demonstrated knowledge of SPC. + Excellent attention to detail. + Ability to work independently and as part of a team. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. + Ability to make effective and timely decisions. + Promotes a sense of urgency to expedite work while maintaining quality. **Why Work Here** Join a clean and modern machine shop that values growth and community involvement.
