Description
The Landscape Technician has the responsibility to participate in an efficient and comprehensive landscape maintenance program. An added duty of this role will be to cover for the landscape technicians in the case of scheduled or unscheduled absences. The incumbent will provide coordination and direction to a team of landscape technicians and external vendors and will assist in providing grounds keeping, building maintenance, along with maintaining equipment and tools.
Primary responsibilities include:
Perform groundskeeping and building maintenance duties as requiredMow lawns either by hand or using a riding lawnmowerLandscape by planting, trimming, and maintaining flowers, grass, shrubs, bushes, and small trees.Shovel snow from walkways and apply traction as neededClean parking lots, sidewalks, and all exterior areas while performing routine groundskeepingPerform spring and fall cleanups to remove excess debris, leaves, and trim landscapingPerform minor repairs and maintenance procedures on equipment utilized in groundskeepingInstall new hardscaping, river rock, fencing, signage, and other furnishings as requiredPressure wash building exterior and refresh parking lot painting as neededClean gutters and roof drains of debrisRespond to emergency and non-emergency service requests and prioritize work order responseRefer work to vendors if necessary, via work order systemClosing out work orders upon completion; via iPad or Computerized Maintenance Management SystemMaintain inventory of supplies, tools and materials and purchasing supplies at the best available priceCommunicate in a pleasant and professional manner with internal and external customersEnsure all tools, equipment, and vehicles are maintained and utilized in a safe manner consistent with established standardsQualifications:
2 or more years of experience in commercial landscape maintenanceExperience driving larger vehicles such as box trucks & pickup trucks with trailers Proven customer service experience and/or abilitiesCompetent use of MS Office applications to include MS Excel, Word, OutlookAbility to travel as requiredDemonstrated written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work under pressure with efficiency and accuracyAbility to plan and prioritize workloadAbility to work outside in all types of weather to complete jobs safelyProven track record to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks to assure successful timely completion of allComfortable working at heights (ladders, roof top, etc)Ability to lift up to 50 poundsEducation, Certifications, and/or Professional Credentials:
High School Diploma or EquivalentValid Drivers License, requiredHours & Work Schedule:
Hours per Week: 40Work Schedule: Monday through Friday with some weekend or overtimePotential change of schedule during winter months working nights/weekends. 2 week notice will be provided before any change in schedule, barring emergenciesSome job boards have started using jobseeker-reported data to estimate salary ranges for roles.
