Job Title: Landscape Architect Job Description We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Landscape Architect to perform landscape architecture design under the close supervision of a senior landscape architect. The role involves hardscape detailing and grading using AutoCAD Civil 3D. The successful candidate will participate in project-related meetings to coordinate activities and will assist in the preparation of landscape architecture deliverables including models, drawings, and other project-related documentation. Responsibilities + Perform landscape architecture design under the guidance of a senior landscape architect. + Detail hardscapes and grading using AutoCAD Civil 3D. + Participate in project meetings to coordinate activities and communicate effectively. + Assist in the preparation of landscape architecture deliverables such as models and drawings. + Conduct field surveys, condition assessments, and site investigations. + Perform construction administration tasks, including submittal review, responding to RFIs, and observing construction activities. Essential Skills + Proficiency in landscape design and architecture using AutoCAD and Civil 3D. + Experience with site surveys, site investigations, and construction documentation. + Strong communication skills and the ability to interact with various internal clients. + A self-starter attitude with a desire to learn the industry. + Bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture from an accredited university. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience with ornamental and native plants of the Midwest. + 0-3 years of professional landscape architecture experience focusing on public and recreation markets. + Experience with ArcGIS is a plus. Work Environment Our office offers an open-office environment, encouraging collaboration among a team of four landscape architects and 6-7 civil engineers and designers. The role is production-based, providing opportunities to accrue hours towards licensing. The position supports diverse projects such as park and recreation centers and K-12 education facilities. The workweek is Monday through Thursday, with half-days on Friday, totaling a minimum of 40 hours a week with occasional overtime. The dress code is business professional, transitioning to business casual on Fridays. The office is a LEED Platinum building with ample parking, including priority parking for hybrid vehicles. Facilities include a kitchen with a microwave and tables for lunch. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Darien, IL.
