GDIT is looking for a Tier 2 LAN-WiFi-Voice Network Engineer to support the USPS System for Network information Technology (NIT) Network Connectivity Platform (NCP) team. As a Tier 2 LAN-WiFi-Voice Network Engineer, act as the Tier-2 escalation point for enterprise radio and voice system issues, including providing troubleshooting and operational support.
HOW A TIER 2 LAN-WiFi-Voice NETWORK ENGINEER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:
Perform LMR radio programming and configuration using Radio Management Software, including codeplug managementAdvise stakeholders on radio configurations, system updates, and best practices to improve performance and usabilityCoordinate with LMR vendors, service providers, and project management teams to resolve incidents and support initiativesProduce and deliver monthly radio inventory and configuration reports, including device type, model, and codeplug detailsDevelop and maintain technical documentation covering system configuration, administration, and troubleshootingSupport the creation and analysis of user and local agency surveys to drive system improvementsEnsure LMR and radio equipment comply with FCC regulations and organizational technical standardsSupport LAN, Wi-Fi, and voice network environments as they relate to radio communications systemsWHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
Required Experience:
8+ years of hands-on experienceEducation:
A degree from an accredited College/University in the applicable field of services is preferred. NOTE: Four (4) years’ additional relevant experience in lieu of a degreeRequired skills:
Hands-on experience supporting Land Mobile Radio (LMR) systemsStrong knowledge of radio programming, codeplugs, and radio management softwareTier 2 support experience in LAN, Wi-Fi, and voice network environmentsFamiliarity with FCC compliance requirements for radio and wireless systemsExperience coordinating with telecom vendors, service providers, and project managersAbility to produce clear, well-structured technical documentation and reportsStrong troubleshooting, communication, and organizational skillsExperience supporting large enterprise or government environments preferredLocation:

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust and successfully pass a thorough Government background screening process requiring the completion of detailed forms and fingerprintingThis position has a U.S. residency requirement. The USPS security clearance process requires the selected candidate to have resided in the U.S. (including U.S. Territories) for the last five years as follows: U.S. Citizens cannot have left the U.S. (including U.S. Territories) for longer than 6 months consecutively in the last 3 years (unless they meet certain exceptions).
