Job Title: Stockyard Technician

Job Description

Join a dynamic concrete manufacturing plant that specializes in creating custom work for utility companies, highway rails, and more. The team is dedicated to producing high-quality concrete products for various industries.

Responsibilities

Clean, prepare, and patch concrete products.Remove concrete products from the production area to the stockyard area.Comply with all applicable rules and regulations, especially safety protocols.Utilize oxy/acetylene (natural gas) equipment for burning.Operate hand tools, drills, core drills, generators, drill press, and cut-off tools.Understand chain charts and lift capabilities of all chains and lifting bars.Load and offload fleet equipment according to paperwork provided by dispatch and stockyard leader, as well as vendor equipment.Move truck tractor and flatbeds for proper loading.Operate SMV loader and boom trucks to facilitate loading and unloading.Maintain a clean work area and perform other housekeeping operations.Attendance is an essential function of the job.

Essential Skills

Experience in heavy lifting and forklift operating.Knowledge of load rigging and general labor practices.Concrete finishing, patching, and cleaning skills.Ability to read and interpret blueprints.Basic math skills including fractions and tape measure reading.Experience with hand and power tools.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Concrete, construction, and landscaping knowledge.Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and memos.Skill in adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing with tens and hundreds.Critical thinking and decision-making skills.

Work Environment

The work environment is akin to an indoor construction site, characterized by older facilities that can be loud, dark, and dirty. Employees are regularly exposed to high places, outside weather conditions, and occasional wet or humid conditions. Steel toe work boots, long pants, and a t-shirt are recommended attire. The noise level is moderate, and the role requires physical activity such as lifting up to 75 pounds, climbing, bending, and overhead reaching.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of SPRING CITY, PA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $20.00/hr.
