The base pay scale for this position is $23.35 - $35.51. In addition, this position will be eligible for additional benefits consistent with the role. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be determined based on various factors, including but not limited to: scope of role, level of experience, education, accomplishments, internal equity, budget, and subject to Fair Market Value evaluation. Implant Retrieval Lab Technician, Department of Biomechanics
Job responsibilities:
Assist with the operation of the implant retrieval lab, including but not limited to coordination with the Pathology Department for implant pickup visits and cleaning, cataloging, and appropriate storage of retrieved implantsParticipate in implant retrieval research projects under the supervision of a principal investigator or research engineer: sample selection, data collection and analysis, database management, and drafting of manuscript/conference abstractsParticipate in weekly Biomechanics laboratory meetings and Adult Reconstruction and Joint Replacement grand rounds and other meetings and conferences when requiredPerform administrative tasks, including but not limited to ordering supplies, managing inventory of supplies, and interacting with vendorsMaintain equipment and schedule routine and other required service as needed.Desired skills:
Excellent organization, multitasking skills, strong attention to detailStrong written and oral communication skillsQuick learner and able to adapt to changing conditionsGreat interpersonal skills, team playerAbility to lift 20 to 30 pounds when handling bins of stored implantsProficiency in MS Office software applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams)Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering, bioengineering, mechanical engineering, or materials scienceDemonstrated research experience through internships, laboratory stints, and completed research projectsOrthopaedics research, implants research and/or testing, and clinical experience are assetsOpportunities:

SKILLS REQUIRED
Must be organized and able to work with minimal supervision, and as part of a team. Good communication skills, both verbal and written. Knowledge of cleaning procedures and specifications of specified laboratory equipment and/or facilities. General knowledge of specified laboratory solutions, materials and/or media. Requires moderate physical work; including setting up rooms for conferences and meetings. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, Word.
