**Job Summary and Responsibilities** Northridge Hospital Medical Center invites a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our fast-paced Microbiology team as a Lab Assistant Tech. This role is crucial in upholding our laboratory's commitment to delivering precise and prompt diagnostic testing for our patients. The Lab Assistant Tech will be responsible for a variety of essential laboratory support functions, including: + Accurately process all types of microbiology samples onto the appropriate culture media. + Perform routine procedures such as plating, streaking, and inoculation. Assist with the preparation of reagents and media, and ensure the proper preparation and sterilization of laboratory equipment and supplies. + Collect, process, and label patient samples following established protocols. Maintain thorough and accurate records and documentation for all laboratory activities. + Clean and maintain laboratory work areas and equipment, strictly adhering to all safety protocols and regulations. **Job Requirements** + High school diploma or equivalency. + Familiarity with laboratory equipment, including microscopes, incubators, and autoclaves. + Strong understanding of laboratory safety protocols and regulations. + Fire Safety Card (CT Fire Card) must be obtained within 90 days required.
