How you will contribute

You ensure that Mondelēz International’s safety, quality, cost, delivery, sustainability and morale targets are achieved for the lines for which you are responsible by breaking down section targets into line and unit targets and ensuring that employees understand their individual performance goals related to the overall targets. In this role, you will also develop budgets and be responsible for costs control management, governance and compliance, loss elimination and workforce planning, including recruitment, retention, development, succession planning, and the identification of high-potential team members.

What you need to know about this position:
The Quality Lab and Innovation Supervisor is primarily responsible for ensuring that all applicable Regulatory and Corporate policies are adhered to in the laboratory. The role is also responsible for ensuring successful launches of new innovations as it pertains to quality. Other responsibilities include providing support to customers in various areas of the organization including Operations, R&D, as well as affiliates with lab functions, compliance issues and driving quality improvement projects.
Job Responsibilities
Plan, schedule and supervise all analytical testing support for process control and process improvement to assist in the resolution of manufacturing problems. Ensure effective utilization of personnel and equipment.Supervise and direct all laboratory activities to ensure compliance of NHP, OTC, Dietary Supplement and confectionery products to corporate and government regulations.Coach and develop laboratory colleagues on day-to-day issues management and provide input on Analyst performance appraisals.Support and collaborate with R&D, Manufacturing, and affiliates on technical/laboratory information.Review and approve raw materials, packaging materials and finished products.Create / Revise Raw Material and Finished Product Specifications. Manage contractual arrangement of all Third-Party laboratory testing services.Manage, evaluate and implement safety, equipment evaluation, resource planning, and process improvements for the lab.Evaluate current practices against regulations and make appropriate changes to ensure compliance.Must be able to function as part of a team, and work closely with Operations/ Maintenance/ Scheduling to effectively troubleshoot potential issues in a professional manner. Manage/issue technical documents (e.g. total formula, batch cards, and specifications).Drive / Participate in Consumer Complaint reduction projects.Function as the Quality liaison for new Product or Process related improvement initiatives.Assist with the successful commercialization of new products through communication with Operations & R&D.Work in conjunction with R&D to develop Process Validation, Stability and other innovation protocolsWork in conjunction with Reliability / Project Managers to develop Process Qualification protocolsReview Master Data (SAP) to ensure proper set-up as per plant requirements.Assist in driving completion of L6S programs such as SPC, MSAs as assigned.Work in safe manner and be aware of potential safety hazards in the department and workplace.Function as part of the operations and quality work teams, providing assistance to other work areas to accomplish necessary functions and projects. Must be able to prioritize work for maximum time effectiveness and efficiency and handle a number of situations at one time including concentrating and pay close attention to detail. Must have the capability and initiative to perform duties without direct supervision. Education / Certifications:
Degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, Pharmacy other technical field or equivalent years of related experience.Job specific requirements:
Minimum 3 years’ experience in Analytical Chemistry and instrumental method development in addition to a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a supervisory capacity.Flexible shifts. Supervisors are assigned core hours, however off shift work may be necessary due to special projects or business demands.Sound understanding of computers and laboratory drug handling systems, statistical methods and Quality Control; knowledge of the Food and Drug Act Regulations (Canada) and other pertinent regulations is essential.Is able to understand production/quality interface to prevent quality problems.Analytical thinking and problem solving.Customer focus.Strong communication skills both written and verbal.Project management skills.Leadership skills.Ability to plan and organize the work of self and others.Computer experience required (ie. MS Office, SAP)The expected base salary range for this position is $84,500.00 to $105,650.00 CAD depending on several factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible to participate in a highly competitive bonus program with a target of 8% with the possibility for overachievement based on performance and company results.
