Laboratory Technician
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Laboratory Technician to support daily activities in our laboratory. The ideal candidate will lead general operations, ensuring housekeeping, orderliness, and cleanliness of the workspace. Responsibilities include receiving and labeling incoming samples, maintaining and receiving sufficient labware inventory, and preparing buffers and reagents. The role also involves troubleshooting and operating equipment needed for genotyping production, as well as reviewing and archiving task-related documents.
Responsibilities
Lead general operations, housekeeping, orderliness, and cleanliness of the laboratory workspace.Receive and label incoming samples accurately.Maintain and manage labware inventory to ensure sufficient supplies.Prepare buffers and reagents as required.Troubleshoot and operate equipment needed for genotyping production.Review and archive task-related documents in an organized manner.Understand and follow Employee Safety and Health (ESH) guidelines, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and workflow guidelines.Maintain a safe work environment at all times.Manage multiple tasks effectively while working under more than one supervisor.Interface with other functions such as manufacturing and research personnel.Essential Skills
Proficiency in Microbiology, Chemistry, Biology, and laboratory research.Experience with diagnostic lab operations.Compliance-based lab experience.Research-oriented experience.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Ability to follow guidelines and maintain a safe work environment.Capable of managing multiple tasks and working effectively with more than one supervisor.Experience interfacing with manufacturing and research personnel.Work Environment
The work environment is structured with standard operating hours from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The laboratory is equipped with state-of-the-art technology and follows strict safety and health guidelines to ensure a safe and productive workspace.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Ankeny, IA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
