Job Title: Lab Technician

Job Description

The Lab Technician will be responsible for understanding and following Quality System documents relevant to their responsibilities, including the Quality Manual, SOPs, and Methods. This role requires adherence to appropriate quality measures to meet or exceed standards set by ISO/IEC, government regulatory bodies such as cGMP and GLP, as well as company requirements relevant to assigned duties. The technician must comply with all health, safety, and environmental regulations and help maintain a clean and safe work environment. Proficiency in at least one core method and the ability to conduct another assigned method with minimal supervision is expected, alongside operating all required basic lab equipment within the department.

Responsibilities

Understand and follow Quality System documents relevant to responsibilities, such as Quality Manual, SOPs, and Methods.Adhere to quality measures to meet or exceed standards set by ISO/IEC, government regulatory (cGMP, GLP), and company requirements.Comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations relative to assigned analytical work.Maintain and assist others in maintaining a clean and safe work environment.Demonstrate proficiency in at least one core method and conduct another assigned method with no more than 25% supervision.Operate all required basic lab equipment within the department.Set up batches of samples for weighing and weigh samples.Perform timely and accurate analysis of samples to meet customer commitments.Prepare samples for analysis using appropriate methods and techniques and apply appropriate data reduction.

Essential Skills

Proficiency in Biology, Chemistry, and Laboratory techniques.Experience with Wet Chemistry and Pipetting.Knowledge of HPLC and Quality Control protocols.Understanding of GMP and Quality Assurance procedures.Background in Microbiology.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, Microbiology, or related scientific field is strongly preferred.High School Diploma with previous lab experience if a Bachelor's degree is not held.

Work Environment

The lab technician will work in a large facility with roughly seven labs focused on nutritional testing for various industries. This is a fast-paced production lab environment.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Des Moines, IA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.30 - $20.30/hr.
