Lab Technician
Job Title: Lab TechnicianJob Description

This role involves testing production batches following specific written testing methods, identifying issues in both in-spec and out-of-spec data, and interpreting results and historical data to ensure product quality meets or exceeds customer requirements. The technician will also provide instructions to production personnel on batch adjustments as needed, ensure the efficient operation of the lab, maintain general housekeeping, and uphold a safe work environment.

ResponsibilitiesApprove batches by ensuring all tests are completed and results meet all specifications before proceeding to the next production process.Enter all batch data into the electronic batch records system.Generate appropriate paperwork as needed per customer specifications.Gather and send customer samples as required.Follow all standard technical procedures and exercise good judgment and initiative with minimal supervision.If necessary, follow appropriate raw material test methods and file related paperwork.Manage and stock the product retain area.Utilize appropriate computer systems for effective product testing.Determine the disposition of non-compliant finished goods, such as first case/last case.Place non-conforming material on hold as needed.Support the Management Systems and Safety Systems.Maintain an inventory of lab supplies, stock them when received, and request them when low.Ensure lab housekeeping and clean all test equipment.Adhere to all safety requirements of the job.Identify and communicate product issues to other departments as needed.Review batch slips for completeness and accuracy.Create, maintain, and update standard operating procedures for the Quality Department to meet requirements.Assist in training other lab technicians as needed.Essential SkillsExperience in quality control, chemistry, and laboratory procedures.Proficiency in using viscometers, spectrometers, and conducting wet chemistry, titration, and pH testing.1+ years of lab-based experience in material testing.Ability to see color with or without reasonable accommodation.Additional Skills & QualificationsMust be at least 18 years of age.Legally authorized to work in the country without sponsorship for employment work visa status.Possess a high school diploma or GED.Willingness to work overtime with or without reasonable accommodation.Work Environment

The lab is situated in a paint manufacturing environment where exposure to dusty and dirty conditions is common. Technicians should not be afraid of getting paint on them. The role involves working with one other technician on the shift and maintaining constant communication with the production team. The lab team is laid-back, fosters a team mentality, and encourages wearing multiple hats to support each other.

This is a Contract position based out of Baltimore, MD.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $26.00/hr.
