Lab Technician
Job Title: Lab TechnicianJob Description

We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Lab Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up and running laboratory experiments, analyzing test specimens, and performing various tasks related to materials selection and corrosion testing and analysis. This role requires a solid understanding of chemistry.

ResponsibilitiesAssist in laboratory testing of pipeline coupons and materials.Operate laboratory equipment such as microscopes, surface profilometers, laser cleaning instruments, mass balances, and sterilizers to clean and document corrosion coupons.Use a scanning electron microscope (SEM) to document the surface of corrosion coupon samples at high magnification.Maintain inventory and order parts and supplies as needed.Support field activities such as coupon retrieval, surveys, and inspections, and travel to customers’ field locations to assist in installation and removal of coupon samples.Prepare solutions for microbial induced corrosion (MIC) testing.Switch between multiple tasks and projects, performing testing and data reporting on samples in a timely manner.Essential SkillsExperience in a lab environment.Knowledge of chemistry and chemical testing.Mechanical aptitude.Experience in materials testing and environmental science.Additional Skills & QualificationsChemistry experience or knowledge from a degree or work experience.Work Environment

The position is based in a lab setting with 12-15 other technicians. The standard working hours are from 8am to 5pm, with the possibility of a flexible start time between 7am and 9am. The lab handles unique projects that are not highly repetitive, situated between research and production labs, and offers international business support, particularly in upstream work. The lab is expanding into renewables and conducts extensive hydrogen and CO2 capture/transfer/storage testing. The duration of the contract is 6-12 months prior to potential conversion to a direct position.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Dublin, OH.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
