Job Title: Lab TechnicianJob Description We are seeking a dedicated Lab Technician to perform laboratory tests using both conventional and computerized machines. This role involves setting up, readjusting, and operating laboratory equipment and instruments while maintaining prescribed standards. You will determine the chemical and physical characteristics or composition of various substances, maintain records, and respond to standard customer inquiries regarding formulas and the mixture process. Responsibilities + Perform laboratory tests and work according to prescribed standards. + Determine chemical and physical characteristics or composition. + Set up, readjust, and operate laboratory equipment and instruments. + Enter data to maintain records, update information, and track results. + Respond to basic customer questions regarding formulas and mixture processes. + Clean, maintain, and calibrate standard equipment. + Maintain a clean and safe working environment. + Perform other duties as assigned. Essential Skills + Experience in laboratory work, chemistry, and research. + Proficiency in testing, formulation, mixing, measuring, and quality control. + Experience with resins, experiments, and synthesis. + Proven ability to handle research and development tasks. + Capability in color matching and working with liquids, coatings, and paint. Additional Skills & Qualifications + High School Diploma or GED required; Associates or Bachelors preferred. + 1 year of chemical lab experience preferred. + Basic math skills required. + Color differentiation experience. + Good organizational and documentation skills (verified with references). + Ability to take direction well (verified with references). Work Environment This position is based in an industrial lab environment, not a clean room or biological lab. The role offers flexible first shift hours, Monday to Friday, typically an 8-hour shift from 7/8 AM to 4/5 PM, with core hours from 8 AM to 4 PM. The dress code is business casual, and a lab coat will be provided. This role offers great hands-on experience working with customer products and managing various projects independently, with potential for internal advancement. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of El Paso, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.00/hr.
