Lab Technician - 1st shift
Job Description
The Production Laboratory Technician is responsible for working with general lab equipment such as pH meters, conductivity meters, and pipettes, as well as producing competent cells and reagents. The role involves working under ISO regulations and using aseptic techniques.
Responsibilities
Produce electrocompetent and chemically competent cells.Perform quality control (QC) on completed batches.Occasionally dispense and fill products in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and regulatory standards.Work under good documentation practices to assist with batch record writing, review, and release of products.Contribute to process improvement initiatives.Operate within the company's Quality Management System (QMS).Essential Skills
High school diploma or GED.2+ years of experience in a laboratory setting working directly with biological materials, equipment, or similar processes.Proficiency with standard laboratory equipment such as pH meters, conductivity meters, and pipettes.Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies and technical processes aimed at improving quality and efficiency.Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).Additional Skills & Qualifications
Associate degree in a relevant life sciences field (molecular biology, microbiology, biochemistry, etc.) is preferred.Hands-on experience with molecular biology techniques.Experience working with cell cultures and proficiency in aseptic techniques.Previous industry experience in pharma, biotech, or medical devices, especially in an ISO-certified environment.Work Environment
The position operates Monday to Friday, 1st shift, from 8 am to 4:30 pm, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break. There is potential for a 7 am start if needed. The environment involves working in operations on the production side and may require flexibility to work in other areas. The team consists of roughly 10-12 members, with daily engagement with 3-4 people, reporting to the new Production Supervisor.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.00/hr.
