This position is responsible for testing production batches according to specific written testing methods and identifying issues of both in-spec and out-of-spec data. The technician will interpret results and historical data to ensure the product meets or exceeds the customers’ requirements for quality, as well as provide instructions to production personnel regarding adjustments to batches as needed. The technician will be involved in the efficient operation of the lab, general housekeeping, ensuring a safe work environment, and will independently perform tasks as outlined by the supervisor.
ResponsibilitiesApprove batches by ensuring all tests are completed and results meet specifications before proceeding to the next production process.Enter all batch data into the electronic batch records system.Generate appropriate paperwork as needed per customer specifications.Gather and send customer samples as required.Follow all standard technical procedures, exercising good judgment and initiative.Conduct assigned work with minimal supervision.Follow appropriate raw material test methods and manage related paperwork if necessary.Gather, stock, and manage the product retain area.Utilize appropriate computer systems to ensure effective testing of products.Determine the disposition of non-compliant finished goods, such as first case/last case.Place non-conforming material on hold as needed.Support Management Systems and Safety Systems.Maintain inventory of lab supplies, restocking them when received, and requesting them when low.Maintain lab housekeeping and clean all test equipment.Adhere to all safety requirements of the job.Identify and communicate product issues to other departments as needed.Review batch slip for completeness and accuracy.Create, maintain, and update standard operating procedures for the Quality Department to meet requirements.Assist in training of other lab technicians as needed.Essential SkillsQuality controlChemistryLaboratory proceduresGMPQuality Control (QC)ViscometerSpectrometerTitrationInspectionWet chemistryGas Chromatography (GC)pH measurementAdditional Skills & QualificationsMust be at least 18 years of age.Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without sponsorship.Must have a high school diploma or GED.Must have the ability to see color with or without reasonable accommodation.Must be willing to work overtime with or without reasonable accommodation.1+ years of lab-based experience in material testing.Work EnvironmentThe lab is set in a paint manufacturing environment. Technicians will be exposed to dusty and dirty conditions and should not be afraid to get a little paint on them. They will work with one other technician on their shift and will be in constant communication with the production team. The lab team is laid-back with a team mentality, where members wear multiple hats and are willing to help each other out.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $24.26 - $26.26/hr.
