Lab Technician
Job Title: Lab TechnicianJob Description As a Lab Technician, you will understand and follow Quality System documents relevant to your responsibilities, including the Quality Manual, SOPs, and Methods. You will adhere to appropriate quality measures to meet or exceed the standards set by ISO/IEC, government regulatory (cGMP, GLP), and company requirements. You will ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations while maintaining a clean and safe work environment. Responsibilities + Demonstrate proficiency in at least one core method and conduct at least one other assigned method with minimal supervision. + Operate all required basic lab equipment within the department. + Set up batches of samples to weigh and weigh samples. + Perform timely and accurate analysis of samples to meet customer commitments. + Prepare samples for analysis, use appropriate analysis methods and techniques, and apply appropriate data reduction. Essential Skills + Proficiency in Biology, Laboratory procedures, Chemistry, Wet Chemistry, and Pipetting. + Experience with HPLC, quality control, GMP, and quality assurance. + Knowledge of Microbiology. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, Microbiology, or a related scientific field is strongly preferred. + A High School Diploma and previous lab experience are required if a Bachelor's degree is not held. Work Environment The lab is a large facility with approximately seven labs, conducting nutritional testing for various clients across numerous industries. The work environment is fast-paced, as it is a production lab. The position operates on a 1st shift schedule from 8 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Des Moines, IA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $17.50 - $17.50/hr.
