Lab Technician

Shift: Swing Shift — 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM | 4 days on / 4 days off

Job Summary

We are seeking a Quality Control Laboratory Technician to perform inspections and tests on raw materials, products in process, and finished products. This role ensures compliance with technical specifications, production process parameters, applicable standards, and work instructions, supporting operational needs and customer requirements within a Quality Management System.

Key Responsibilities

Perform inspections and laboratory tests on critical inputs, in-process materials, and finished products according to specifications, standards, and work instructions.

Calibrate and operate an optical spectrometer when trained and authorized.

Conduct chemical analysis using an optical spectrometer as required.

Monitor and analyze the daily manufacture of aluminum rebar and aluminum alloys, verifying tensile strength, minimum elongation, electrical resistivity and conductivity, and dimensional and visual characteristics.

Collect samples and monitor incoming aluminum rod, performing tests including breaking strength, minimum elongation, electrical resistivity and conductivity, dimensional checks, reverse torsion, and surface finish.

Monitor aluminum and aluminum alloy wire production, checking breakdown voltage, ductility, electrical and mechanical properties, and surface finish.

Approve or reject materials based on customer specifications and standard norms.

Validate, record, and release test results in the integrated manufacturing system.

Perform visual inspections of finished and semi-finished products in production areas.

Label materials according to quality status (approved or rejected).

Properly dispose of materials and testing inputs in designated containers.

Communicate test results to internal departments as required.

Minimum Requirements

Education: High school diploma or equivalent
OR

Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment

Specific skills: Not required (training provided)

Preferred Qualities

Strong attention to detail

Ability to work independently during overnight shifts

Basic understanding of manufacturing or quality processes

Comfortable working in both laboratory and production environments
