Lab Operations Specialist

Job Title: Lab Operations Specialist

Job Description

The Lab Operations Specialist will support scientists by managing their equipment and handling vendor management for all lab suppliers. You will be responsible for interacting with scientists to ensure they have the necessary consumables, purchasing, and ordering appropriate inventory while maintaining it in the QMS system.

Responsibilities

Fulfill internal requests submitted by scientists.Maintain stockroom and point of use inventories according to thresholds determined by customers’ stockroom managers.Communicate with supervisors regarding supply stock, material needs, software upgrades, and other related matters.Assist with laboratory supply stockroom and site inventories.Collect and supply metrics as required by management.

Essential Skills

Proficiency in inventory control and management.Experience in lab operations and support.Ability to manage stockroom and bench testing.Vendor management skills.Experience with media and buffer preparation.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.Compliance with all safety standards and policies for site, department, and job function.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with management, employees at all levels, and customers.Team player committed to working in a safe, high-performance, and quality-driven environment.

Work Environment

This is a 100% onsite role with working hours from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm. On the first two Fridays of every month, you will be required to stay until 5:00 pm to oversee the custodians. The work environment demands a high degree of communication skills and requires someone who is hardworking and detail-oriented.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Somerville, MA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.
