Laboratory Manager

Job Description

As a Laboratory Manager, you will oversee the laboratory operations, ensuring smooth and efficient processes while maintaining high standards. You will be responsible for troubleshooting instrumentation, running chemistry and microbiology tests, and training new technicians. This role demands quick thinking and adaptability in a high-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Oversee a team of 10 in the laboratory.Ensure continuous improvement within the lab to enhance current processes.Collaborate with various groups around the facility.Troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation.Run chemistry and microbiology tests.Train new technicians joining the lab.

Essential Skills

10+ years of laboratory experience.5+ years of managerial or supervisory experience.Proficiency with lab instrumentation in chemistry and microbiology.Degree in biochemistry, biology, or a related life science.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience in animal pharmaceuticals is preferred.Knowledge of laboratory management and quality control.Understanding of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices).

Work Environment

The work environment is clean and equipped with new laboratory equipment, fostering a great work culture. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, 7 AM to 4 PM with a one-hour lunch break. Occasionally, there may be requirements to stay late or work on Saturdays for limited hours due to production demands, but never past 5:30-6 PM on weekdays or more than a couple of hours on weekends. The position offers benefits like shutdown pay, around 10 paid holidays, and PTO.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Omaha, NE.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $45.00/hr.
