POSITION SUMMARY: 

The Department of Mining and Materials Engineering at McGill University is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Lab Helper B (casual) to assist the Lab Supervisor with experiments in the lab involving characterization of materials with different methods, upgrading of black mass by thermal treatment and flotation, leaching of black mass and analysis of solution and solid samples.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Assist in experiment setups involving the separation of black mass components

Assist with lab testing on selected black mass samples

Helps in cleaning up before, after, and in between experiments, making sure the laboratory work area is free of experimental sample

Assist with labelling sample containers, cataloguing laboratory material/samples, collecting and entering data into established inventory databases

Distribute and track black mass sample

Qualifications: 

High School Diploma

Excellent written and oral communication skills

Well-organized, self-motivated, and excellent previous work attendance

Willingness to learn important aspects of the project is a plus

Previous work experience in a lab environment is an asset
