Job Description
As a Lab Data Specialist, you will provide data support services for laboratory testing and manage laboratory customer relations across all collection centers, both internal and external.
ResponsibilitiesMonitor calls and call logs to ensure appropriate handling and superior customer service.Initiate and investigate customer inquiries and complaints promptly.Review departmental logs and records for accuracy.Communicate Center Feedback Reports (CFR) data to collection centers via phone, email, and hardcopy.Consolidate, prepare, and enter information into the National Donor Deferral Registry (NDDR) and assist with inquiries as needed.Complete and monitor department Incident Reports.Perform clerical duties such as archiving, storage, retrieval, filing, mailing, copying, answering phones, faxing documents, and preparing statistical reports.Perform verbal, written, and computerized test data entry of results accurately and timely.Generate and distribute daily reports to prevent loss of units due to incomplete testing.Review and verify Sample Hold sheets following established protocols.Collect, collate, verify, and distribute confirmatory reports from the reference laboratory.Adhere to all safety regulations and Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) policies.Maintain a clean and safe work environment.Prepare samples for confirmatory testing and assist in the preparation of required testing.Essential SkillsHigh School diploma or equivalent required.Two years of customer service experience, preferably in a laboratory setting.Basic computer skills required, including data entry into the laboratory’s computer system.Additional Skills & QualificationsPrior laboratory experience preferred.Intermediate to advanced skills in Excel and Outlook preferred.Exceptional skills in customer service, phone handling, and organization are highly regarded.Ability to transition quickly between tasks.Strong team collaboration skills.Work Environment
This position operates on the 2nd shift, Monday through Friday, from 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM, with a rotating Saturday shift once a month from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. The role is 100% onsite and involves preparing samples for shipment to a third-party lab for confirmatory testing. The environment may include exposure to extreme temperatures and bloodborne pathogens, with all necessary personal protective equipment provided, including lab coat, gloves, and face shield. The work environment is fast-paced with frequent interruptions, and overtime or extended hours may be required. The job requires standing for prolonged periods and occasional lifting or carrying up to 10 lbs.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $17.66 - $17.66/hr.
