Job Description

We are seeking a Kubernetes Engineer to support the development of containerization across three large Navy ship and submarine platforms. This role involves working with a range of technologies from commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) sonar/acoustic systems to submarine subsystems, communication systems, and specialty sensors. The systems developed ensure submarines function properly, scan the water to detect threats, and keep sailors aware and safe.

Responsibilities

Perform software integration.Enable a Linux system to function with a private cloud, including testing and debugging code.Work with containers and orchestrators.Design, develop, and deploy containers using Kubernetes in a Linux OS environment.Optimize system performance, security, and scalability.Develop Kubernetes rulesets for scheduling.Implement inter-process communication within containers.Optimize GPU performance.

JOB SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

Proficiency in Kubernetes and Linux.Experience in software integration and container management.Knowledge of bash and Python scripting.Experience in cluster orchestration, including Kubernetes.Familiarity with technologies like Prometheus and Rancher.Understanding of Agile methodologies.Experience with version control systems such as Git and SVN.Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.3+ years of development and integration experience with Linux/Unix Operating System.Experience with designing and building containers with Kubernetes.Familiarity with GPU optimization within containers.Proficiency with RKE2 and KubeVIP.Eligible for Secret Clearance (must have interim Secret minimum to start).

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Manassas, VA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $70.00 - $90.00/hr.
