Job Summary
A Kanban Analyst must have a good understanding of inventory control and materials management in a material flow environment that employs material pull processes in place of work order kitting. A good understanding of how the pull process works with minimal transactions in a repetitive manufacturing process as part of the MRP configuration and environment is also important to this role.
The Kanban Analyst II designs, maintains, and continuously improves Kanban-based replenishment systems. This role requires hands-on experience with pull-based manufacturing processes and an ability to collaborate cross-functionally to ensure efficient inventory flow and material availability.
Key Responsibilities
· Design and maintain Kanban replenishment systems and supporting data.
· Optimize Kanban sizing based on demand, lead time, and usage trends.
· Implement work cell pull procedures using methods such as Dual Card, Single Card, and Re-Order Point systems.
· Train material handlers and production staff on Kanban principles.
· Coordinate with suppliers and buyers on Kanban release processes.
· Analyze performance metrics and recommend process improvements.
Qualifications
· 2–4 years of experience in a Kanban or pull-based manufacturing environment.
· Strong knowledge of inventory management, MRP, and backflush control.
· Experience designing and implementing Kanban systems.
· Proficiency with data analytics tools and ERP/MRP systems.
· Bachelor’s degree required; supply chain certification (ASCM, CSCMP, or ISM) preferred.
