Junior Sommelier

**Description:**
The Junior Sommelier is responsible for assisting with the proper presentation, opening, and service of wines, following established protocols. In addition, the role recommends wines and basic food and wine pairings according to the menu and guest preferences. The Junior Sommelier maintains the wine cellar and inventory in an organized manner, collaborates in the care of specialized glassware, and supports the receiving and verification of wine and beverage orders. The position also contributes to updating the wine list, learns and communicates key characteristics of wines, regions, grape varieties, and producers, and ensures compliance with the restaurant’s hygiene, safety, and service standards while supporting internal training sessions.
**Qualifications:**
+ 3–4 years of relevant experience in a luxury hotel position.
+ Conversational English proficiency (approximately 75%).
+ Strong commitment to continuous learning and professional growth.
+ Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and discipline.
+ Flexibility to work rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays.
+ Exceptional guest service skills with clear and confident communication.
+ Ability to recommend wines based on guest preferences, budget, and menu pairings.
+ Solid knowledge of proper wine service, including serving temperatures, glassware, and wine opening techniques.
