Job Summary:
As a Junior Accounting and Reporting Specialist, you will support the finance team in delivering timely and accurate financial reporting for designated legal entities, primarily focusing on General Ledger activities, intercompany reconciliation, and assisting in the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes. You will gain hands-on experience working with SAP and HFM while developing a strong foundation in international accounting standards and corporate finance practices.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Support timely execution of monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes under supervision.
Assist with posting standard journals, accruals, prepayments, and payroll entries in SAP.
Help with foreign currency revaluations and ensure accurate data entries in SAP for designated entities.
Assist in maintaining the Fixed Asset Register, monthly depreciation, and WIP transactions.
Monitor open items in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR); follow up with relevant stakeholders.
Support invoicing activities for intercompany transactions and help reconcile intercompany balances.
Help prepare actual monthly uploads into HFM and assist with consolidation reporting requirements.
Contribute to balance sheet reconciliations and assist in resolving outstanding items.
Support sales and purchase ledger reporting, including supplier statement reconciliations.
Help with the review and preparation of statutory financial statements.
Assist with the proper filing and archiving of financial documents.
Provide support on tax-related tasks such as VAT returns and other compliance requirements.
Liaise with external auditors and support audit preparations.
Participate in internal control activities and support ongoing process improvements.
Assist in monitoring accounting KPIs and performance metrics.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Master's degree is a plus but not required
Work Experience:
0–2 years of experience in an accounting or finance function
Internship or exposure to an accounting firm is an advantage
Familiarity with international accounting standards (US GAAP / IFRS / LU GAAP) is a plus
Technical Skills:
Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, etc.)
Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP FI/CO) and/or HFM is an advantage
Interest in learning Power BI and data visualization tools
Language / Communication Skills:
Fluent in English (written and spoken)
Strong interpersonal skills and willingness to learn from internal stakeholders
Other Skills:
