Junior Accountant
Job Title: Accounting ManagerJob Description We are seeking a dedicated Accounting Manager who will play a pivotal role in managing and optimizing our financial operations. This position offers the opportunity to work onsite every day, Monday through Thursday from 8:00 am to 5:30 pm, and Friday from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm. You will be an integral part of a small team, working within a dynamic and growing organization, with the potential for this role to transition into a permanent position after an initial six-month contract. Responsibilities + Prepare bank and general ledger account reconciliations, investigating variances and ensuring accuracy of financial records. + Provide support to the finance team with financial reporting and audits. + Prepare payment runs and ensure adherence to payment schedules. + Accurately input data into ERP systems, maintaining a high level of precision. + Support the AP specialist with all aspects of the accounts payable process. + Resolve discrepancies in collaboration with purchasing and receiving teams. + Maintain organized and up-to-date records of invoices, purchase orders, and related documentation. + Respond to vendor and customer inquiries and address discrepancies professionally. + Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance the efficiency of accounts payable and accounts receivable processes. + Drive improvements within AP and AR to minimize errors and rework. + Serve as the primary point of contact with customers. + Manage all aspects of AR, including preparing customer invoices, posting cash receipts, and collections. + Respond to internal and external inquiries related to financial transactions and provide assistance as needed. + Assist with other ad hoc accounting projects. Essential Skills + Approximately 2–4 years of accounting experience, particularly in AR/collections, bank reconciliations, AP processing, and payment cycles. + Experience with ERP systems and working in high-volume environments. + Proven experience as a junior accountant or in a similar role. + Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry. + Ability to troubleshoot issues. + Effective communication skills to interact with internal teams and external vendors. + Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. + Knowledge of relevant accounting principles and practices. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Familiarity with accounting software such as Costpoint, Great Plains, Visibility, and Epicor (preferred but not required). + Preferable experience in the manufacturing industry, particularly purchase order and invoice processing. Work Environment This role operates within an office setting, utilizing ERP systems including Visibility and Epicor. You will join a team of three, contributing to a growing company that values collaboration and efficiency. The dress code is professional, suitable for an office environment. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $29.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
