Journeyman Painter
**Job Title: Journeyman Painter** **Job Description** As a Journeyman Painter, you will be responsible for installing wall coverings and wallpaper in commercial spaces, preparing surfaces for optimal adhesion, and ensuring seamless application and alignment. You will handle materials and tools, inspect work for quality, collaborate with team members, apply paint and coatings, adhere to safety protocols, maintain equipment, and interact with clients to meet their expectations. **Responsibilities** + Measure, cut, and install various types of wall coverings, including vinyl, fabric, and specialty materials in commercial spaces. + Prepare walls and surfaces by removing old coverings, patching holes, and smoothing surfaces. + Select and handle wallpaper materials, adhesives, and tools appropriately. + Inspect completed work to ensure it meets company standards and client expectations. + Collaborate with other team members and contractors to complete projects on time. + Apply paint, varnish, and other coatings using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment. + Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations, including the use of personal protective equipment. + Maintain and clean painting tools and equipment, ensuring proper storage and inventory management. + Communicate effectively with clients and project managers to understand needs and provide updates. **Essential Skills** + Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a professional painter with a focus on commercial projects. + Proficiency in various painting techniques, including brush, roller, and spray application. + Strong attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality finishes. + Understanding of different types of paints, coatings, and surface materials. + Familiarity with color theory and mixing. + Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy equipment and working at heights. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Relevant certifications in painting and safety practices are preferred. + Excellent verbal and written communication skills. + Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team. **Why Work Here?** We offer up to a 15% SEP, comprehensive health insurance coverage, Aflac, and a $20,000 life insurance policy covered by the company.
