As a Machine Technician, you will perform work within a union environment to maintain equipment, systems, and processes supporting manufacturing production. You will be responsible for ensuring that machinery operates efficiently and safely, contributing to the overall productivity of the automotive supplier setting. The opening is primarily for 2nd and 3rd shift. Candidates must be open to working all shifts IF NEEDED, ideally you will stay on your desired shift unless there is immediate coverage needed.
Check for backlash in a ball screw using an indicator, and perform removal and proper bearing setup and installation of ball screw assembly.Realign turret heads, spindles, chucks, etc., using indicators, and carry out spindle removal and rebuild tasks.Read blueprints related to bearing stack up and hydraulic systems for effective equipment handling.Remove and rebuild hydraulic cylinders and pumps, and troubleshoot hydraulic systems.Operate mobile cranes and perform rigging tasks, holding a valid Mobile Crane License.Collaborate effectively with team members and work well within teams.Three to five years of manufacturing experience, preferably in an automotive supplier company.Mechanical assembly and troubleshooting skills.Understanding of electrical, pneumatics, and hydraulics.Experience with hand tools and power tools.Proficient in mechanical aptitude and maintenance technician duties.Experience with 3-phase electrical systems.Hydraulic pump repair and machine repair expertise.Possession of a certified Journeyman's card or similar certification.Apprenticeship certification or four years of documented experience in the trade.Work Environment
The work environment is fast-paced and deadline-sensitive. Employees must be open to working all three shifts, with training on the first shift for 2 weeks to 2 months before transitioning to either the second or third shift due to seniority. This union environment requires safety gear including steel-toed boots, hard hats, safety glasses, and ear plugs.
