Join our team as a Journeyman Electrician where you will construct, install, maintain, design, troubleshoot, and test electronic equipment, VFDs, PLCs, machinery, and components. You will conduct preventative maintenance and identify parts for replacement, ensuring all systems operate smoothly and efficiently.
ResponsibilitiesInspect electrical and electronic systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards.Test electrical and electronic systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, circuit boards, and equipment using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes.Design, assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical and electronic equipment.Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components using test equipment and hand tools to locate and correct issues.Perform preventive maintenance according to the schedule and work instructions provided.Specify electronics, sensors, VFDs, PLCs, instruments, and associated equipment.Work with DC to 480V 3 phase electrical systems.Understand and follow Lock-out Tag-out, Confined space, and Fall protection policies.Maintain cleanliness and practice good housekeeping in work areas.Essential SkillsTroubleshooting and PLC troubleshooting experience.Electrical maintenance and industrial experience.Proficiency with electrical testing, PLCs, and VFDs.Ability to read and understand blueprints and schematics.Experience in retrofitting and commissioning equipment.Excellent physical condition and hand-eye coordination.Experience with DC to 480V 3 phase electrical systems.Additional Skills & QualificationsPrevious industrial maintenance experience is required.Hands-on experience with electronic testing and circuitry in a foundry or heavy industrial electrical company.Familiarity with various tools and equipment.Ability to read and understand technical and engineering specifications and instructions.Thermocouple and machine network skills preferred.Why Work Here?Enjoy working in a union shop with excellent benefits, including health, dental, and vision insurance options, life and AD&D coverage, and short-term and long-term disability coverage. Work EnvironmentThe work environment primarily involves government-contracted projects with contracts secured for the next six years. The facility spans 15 acres and includes several buildings with various specialties. It is characterized by a dirty, dark, and sometimes wet and hot atmosphere with large bay doors that remain open year-round, which may lead to cold conditions. Work hours are Monday through Friday, with shifts starting at 6 am or 7 am and ending at 2:30 pm or 3:30 pm.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $74880.00 - $84052.80/yr.
