Journeyman Electrician
**Job Title: Journeyman Electrician** **Pay: $32.00/hr - $40.00/hr** + You are offered based on hourly rate not salary so you will still receive overtime pay for overtime hours worked **Job Description** As a Journeyman Electrician, you will be responsible for servicing electrical and mechanical systems, performing repairs, additions, modifications, and preventive maintenance on all associated equipment for movable bridges in the Hampton Roads Area. **Responsibilities** + Install and monitor performance of installed electrical and mechanical equipment for hazards, adjustments, or replacement. + Repair, install, replace, and test electrical and mechanical equipment using appropriate tools and testing instruments. + Plan electrical secondary system additions or modifications. + Troubleshoot and repair malfunctions in secondary (1000 volts) circuits and systems, including cutouts, switchgears, and transformers. + Isolate faults in 1000 voltage distribution systems and replace cable runs. + Operate all 1000 voltage controls and switchgears, including repairing and replacing them. + Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned, including mechanical and electrical tasks. **Essential Skills** + Licensed Journeyman Electrician + Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar position and environment. + Ability to use diagnostic equipment to repair, install, replace, and test 1000 volt and below electrical circuits, equipment, and appliances. + Ability to diagnose and repair electrical controls, industrial motor control centers, and programmable logic controllers for secondary systems 1000 volt and below. + Ability to read commercial electrical blueprints and apply NEC through the full range of commercial and industrial maintenance and construction work. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + High school diploma or equivalent experience of 5 years directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. + Valid Electrical Journeyman's License. + Must be registered in DPOR (Virginia Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation). + Open to candidates who have an active electrical journeyman license in another state and are willing to transfer their license to Virginia. + Valid Virginia Driver's License and clean MVR **Why Work Here?** Enjoy a company vehicle, 401k, paid vacation, and holidays.
