Journeyman Electrician
Journeyman Electrician - San Diego, CAJob DescriptionFunction as an Electrician/Journeyman Wireman, installing new electrical systems and repairing existing electrical systems while maintaining compliance with national, state, and local electrical codes. Support activities at commercial, industrial, institutional, and residential locations.ResponsibilitiesInstall, repair, maintain, and test commercial, industrial, and residential electrical systems in full support of operations and productivity initiatives.Use industry-related hand tools and power tools.Measure, cut, bend, thread, and install wire and electrical cable systems, conduit systems, and other wire raceway systems.Feed to, pull into, and terminate wire and cable within control centers, distribution boxes, transformers, transducers, switch gear, receptacles, switches, etc.Splice and terminate wires at junction points.Troubleshoot equipment electrical systems and control circuits and build control panels from sketches and schematic diagrams.Delegate tasks and assist with training other employees.Follow lead and instructions of superiors.Communicate and collaborate effectively with crew members.Maintain workflow schedule to ensure all productivity and quality objectives are met.Demonstrate the highest level of professionalism and courtesy when interacting with colleagues, customers, and vendors.Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.Essential SkillsCarded Journeyman Electrician with good single line and conduit experience, and experience with NM and MC cabling and conduit.Ability to read and understand electrical single line and construction blueprints.Experienced in measuring, cutting, bending, threading, and installing wire and electrical cable systems, conduit systems, and other wire raceway systems.Experience using Electrical Single Line blueprints.Experience finding and repairing faults in electrical apparatus and circuits.Ability to verify compliance and functionality of installations in accordance with the National Electrical Code and Project Specifications.Experience helping with the management of a project and crew.Ability to manage material estimates as provided.Demonstrate leadership and pre-planning abilities.Must have a working knowledge of Personal Protection Equipment and a willingness to personally use it as well as require subordinates’ use.Additional Skills & QualificationsMust hold and maintain a current California State General Electrician Certification or ET Card.Scissor lift experience.Work EnvironmentThe role involves commercial-level construction work, with hours from 7 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday. The physical demands include lifting 50 lbs, performing ladder climbing, wire pulling, and conduit pulling. You must maintain a standing position for long periods while performing repetitive actions. The working environment may expose you to various weather conditions, including cold, snow, rain, and heat, as well as high noise levels.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Carlsbad, California.Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $36.00/hr.
