The Journeyman Electrician performs journey-level electrical work, including construction, remodeling, repair, and preventive maintenance of electrical systems in State buildings, providing a safe, well-maintained, and comfortable environment for state employees, inmates, visitors, and the general public. Qualifications PREFERENCES: Preference may be given to those with four (4) years of progressive work experience in Electrical Trades with the acquired knowledge at the level of an Electrician, plus a Journeyman Electrician License. KNOWLEDGE: + Possesses the knowledge to provide a wide range of electrical expertise in the new build, repair, remodel, and refurbish of electrical systems. + Knowledge of State and Local electrical codes. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education: As required by the licensing board Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Journeyman's Electrician License Necessary Special Requirements PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: + Must be able to work in varied or extreme weather conditions + Ability to work in tight spaces + Ability to walk great distances throughout the facility and grounds + Standing for long periods + Stooping, kneeling, stretching, bending, swatting, and reaching on an occasional but prolonged basis + Ability to lead inmate work crews NOTES: + FLSA: Non-Exempt + The Wyoming Department of Corrections (WDOC) is a Drug-Free Workplace.
