Weld Machine Operator (2nd Shift)

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Weld Machine Operator to join our dynamic joist shop team. In this role, you will operate weld machines, monitor equipment performance, and collaborate on an assembly line to produce high-quality joists. This position offers hands-on training and opportunities to enhance your welding skills through specialized classes.

Key ResponsibilitiesOperate weld machines efficiently and ensure proper functionality.Collaborate with team members on the assembly line to produce joists.Read and interpret schematics for accurate assembly.Operate laser machines and other equipment as required.Perform general housekeeping tasks, including cleaning and sweeping.Handle materials and perform touch-up painting as needed.Required Skills & ExperienceExperience with MIG, TIG, or Stick welding is a plus.Ability to read and interpret schematics.General labor and assembly skills.Proficiency with hand tools.Preferred QualificationsTrade school experience or prior work in a skilled trade environment.Ability to work in a heavy industrial setting with exposure to loud noise, dirt, and metal.Why Join Us?Production bonuses for high performance.Tool allowance of $250–$300 and complimentary steel-toed boots.Prescription eye protection is provided if needed.Generous PTO: 2–3 weeks within the first two years, plus 7 sick days and 7 holidays.Work EnvironmentManufacturing plant specializing in structural steel fabrication for bridge work.Heavy industrial atmosphere with exposure to hot conditions in summer and cold conditions in winter.Requires comfort working in a dirty, loud environment.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Point of Rocks, MD.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.17 - $24.17/hr.
