SYSTEMS ENGINEER (Boundary)

MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT:

Supports the implementation, operation, and sustainment of network boundary protections for training and simulation systemsAssists in maintaining secure connectivity between enclaves while ensuring training systems remain available and compliant with cybersecurity requirementsPerforms hands-on configuration, troubleshooting, documentation, and change support for boundary components in a controlled environmentAssist in the configuration and maintenance of enclave boundary protections and boundary updatesPerforms troubleshooting across enclaves and operating systemsPerforms scheduled maintenance and systems upgradesSupports audits, inspections, and vulnerability remediation activitiesMaintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned Participates in special projects as required

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

Education: AS/AA in Information Technology or Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work experienceRequired Experience: 3+ years of related experience; military and MTC experience preferredRequired Technical Skills:Provide support and maintenance of network boundary components including firewalls, routers, switches, etc. at enclave boundariesStrong understanding of RMF (to include documentation and artifacts), boundary relevant STIGS, and cybersecurity complianceKnowledge of firewall rulesApplication of network fundamentals: TCP/IP, VLANS, DNS, DHCP, etcWorking knowledge in configuration and management of primary switches, all remote nodes, and various communications devices Experience with VMWareSupport system integration and training events requiring temporary boundary changesCertification: SEC+ is required; Network+ or CCNA will be consideredSecurity Clearance Level: MUST be able to obtain Interim / Secret Clearance within 6 months of hireRequired Skills and Abilities:Must meet DoD 8570 IAM I certificationSuperb communication skillsStrong troubleshooting skills with the ability to escalate appropriatelyMust be able to perform with minimal guidanceLocation: On Customer Site/moderate travel to other customer sites throughout Pacific AoR

The likely salary range for this position is $81,349 - $93,610. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
