Job Description
Insight Global is seeking to hire a Jira Specialist sitting in Frederick, MD to support a large government contract. The Jira Specialist will serve as the primary administrator and subject‑matter expert for Jira and related Atlassian tools, ensuring the platform is optimized to support project teams, workflows, and organizational processes. This role is responsible for configuring, maintaining, and enhancing Jira projects, custom fields, workflows, dashboards, and automation rules to meet evolving business needs. The specialist will partner closely with technical and non‑technical stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable Jira solutions that improve visibility, reporting, and operational efficiency. They will manage user permissions, troubleshoot system issues, and ensure data integrity across all Jira environments. The position also leads process improvements by analyzing current usage patterns and recommending enhancements or integrations that streamline work. Additionally, the Jira Specialist will develop documentation, provide training to end users, and support governance standards to maintain consistency across teams. This role requires strong analytical skills, excellent communication, and the ability to work in a fast‑paced environment while managing multiple priorities.

Skills and Requirements
5+ years of hands‑on Jira and Atlassian administration experience
Proven ability to build and maintain Jira workflows, fields, dashboards, and automation
Strong skills in translating business needs into scalable Jira configurations
Experience troubleshooting Jira issues, managing permissions, and ensuring data accuracy
Ability to document processes and deliver clear end‑user training
Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills
