Japanese Language News Translator/Editor - Tokyo

We are looking for a motivated journalist based in Tokyo to curate overseas news stories for our Japanese language Terminal and Digital readers. You will be an avid user of AI translation tools with excellent news judgment to select, edit and curate the most relevant global stories for our local audience. Accuracy and speed will be crucial and you be expected to work on stories across multiple platforms including videos and other visuals such as charts/graphics.
You will exercise strong news judgment based on Terminal and Digital user needs and will have strong editing skills which you will use to ensure the stories are accurate and presented in the best possible way with attractive headlines and proper context. You will also be expected to rewrite stories focusing on the most relevant news for Japanese readers and/or merge multiple English language stories into one Japanese copy.
We'll trust you to: Curate English language news stories into Japanese, adding accurate context and/or refocusing the angle as needed to meet local readers' needsProactively use AI tools to increase efficiency while ensuring accuracy and quality Produce front-page quality news stories in Japanese with clear, compelling headlines Curate stories across multiple platforms, from the Terminal to mobile to digital, in a timely manner exercising strong news judgment
You'll need to have: At least 3 years of reporting, editing and/or digital experience Ability to write/edit Japanese language news based on English content in a real-time news environment A strong understanding of financial markets and news judgement will be a plus A strong work ethic; be a team player and ability to work in high-pressure environment Proficiency in both spoken and written Japanese & EnglishDemonstrated continuous career growth within an organizationLife at Bloomberg is many things, but it’s never dull. ＜業務上の期待＞英語ニュースを日本語プラットフォーム向けにキュレーションし、日本人読者向けに必要に応じて妥当な文脈追加や編集を行うAIツールを積極活用しながら、正確性と質を保ちつつ業務効率を高めるトップページ掲載にふさわしい明確かつ説得力のある見出しを備えたニュース記事の作成ブルームバーグ端末、モバイル、ウェブサイトなど複数のプラットフォーム向けに、的確なニュース判断で迅速に記事をキュレーション
＜応募に必要な要件＞3年以上の取材、編集、またはデジタル関連の実務経験英語コンテンツを基に、日本語ニュースをリアルタイムで執筆・編集できる能力金融市場に関する深い理解や優れたニュース判断力があれば、さらに望ましい仕事に対する高い意識、チームワーク精神、プレッシャーの下でも働ける能力日本語・英語の高いコミュニケーション能力（読み書き・会話）
